Scope
The College may issue employment contracts to regular full-time employees serving in regular or fixed term positions.
Policy Statement
Employment contracts shall specify the beginning and ending dates of employment and salary to be paid during the term of the contract. Contract-eligible positions include:
- Administrative – classified as Cabinet, Senior Management, and Administration.
- Professional Contractual – staff member approved for an annual contract by the President.
- Bargaining Unit Members – Instructional Faculty and Librarians may be awarded continuing, multiyear, or annual contracts, subject to state statute, provisions of the State Board of Education, and the collective bargaining agreement.
No employee of the College is authorized to give expressed or implied assurances of employment beyond any current contract period. All other employment agreements will not create any right, interest, or expectancy beyond the specific term set forth in the contract. Neither the College’s Board nor its administration has any contractual obligation that isn’t expressly stated, including any continuing obligation beyond the contract term.
