  • If you’re a dependent student, your parent(s) must also obtain an FSA ID.
  • FSA ID website  |  FSA ID Video

Step 2:  Complete the FAFSA as early as possible

Applying early can pay off! Some funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, processing times can take 3 to 4 weeks during peak periods.

Here is a list of important information you’ll need to complete the FAFSA:

  • Your driver’s license number (if you have one).
  • Your Alien Registration number (if you’re an eligible non-citizen).
  • Income and income tax information. For the 2025-2026 FAFSA, you will need your 2023 tax information.

  • Check your financial aid application status through your Workday student portal. Need help? Watch the Workday Student video.
  • If you’re a new student, submit all required official transcripts for your admissions application. Your financial aid package cannot be released until this step is completed.

  • Decide whether you want to reduce or decline your loans. If you decide not to borrow an awarded student loan, please decline it in Workday. Need help? Watch the Workday Student video
