Insurance Requirements
Entities seeking to engage in business or perform services with Palm Beach State College shall carry Professional Liability and/or General Liability Insurance, as determined by the College’s Risk Management Department. Entities may also be required to carry additional coverage, including but not limited to automobile liability, umbrella liability, excess liability, workers’ compensation, employer’s liability, and cyber insurance.
These entities are required to produce a Certificate of Insurance (COI) or its equivalent prior to the commencement of work. The COI must list the College and its District Board of Trustees as additional insured on the insurance policy.
Builder’s Risk
Contractors engaging in the construction of buildings on any Palm Beach State College campus are required to carry Builder’s Risk Insurance to cover projects under construction in the event of fire, theft, natural disaster, and any other force majeure. The appropriate amount of coverage will be determined by the College.
Waivers of Subrogation
In some instances, such as construction contracts, the insured’s policy will be required to contain a waiver of subrogation endorsement. A waiver of subrogation clause in favor of the College will be included in the contract.
