    The Office of the General Counsel supports the dynamic educational environment of Palm Beach State College (PBSC) by providing legal advice to foster sound decision-making in all areas of operation, instruction, and administration.

    The Office of the General Counsel will efficiently, reliably, and professionally provide counsel to minimize legal risk and costs, reduce litigation exposure, and ensure legal compliance. It will alert the appropriate managers of legal issues that may affect the College and interact regularly with College staff and its constituents to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory changes and case law.

     

    Subpoenas 

    The General Counsel is authorized to receive subpoenas for producing college documents and other court orders. To ensure proper service, the subpoena should be served to the following:

    The General Counsel’s Office cannot accept service of subpoenas or other court orders directed to college staff on personal matters.  Such documents must be served directly on the relevant individual.
