Applied learning allows you to explore multiple avenues of the field, from hair styling, cutting, relaxing and coloring to permanent waving, manicures and pedicures and skin care services. 

Practice your craft on clients and other students through PBSC's on-site cosmetology services. Program Details

  • Admission requirements:
    • Must be 16 years of age.
    • To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required. 
  • Location: On-site at Lake Worth and Belle Glade campuses
  • Clock hours: 1,200
  • Program Length: 12-14 months, daytime and evening options available
  • Start Terms:
    • Belle Glade: Fall (daytime), evening program varies
    • Lake Worth: Fall, Spring and Summer

How to Apply

  • Step 1: Meet with program director. Belle Glade students attend a mandatory program information session.
  • Step 2: After you attend an information session or meeting, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5357 for the Cosmetology CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
  • Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
  • Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
