Program Overview
The Welding Technology Career Certificate Program (CCP) at Palm Beach State College prepares students to work in a variety of occupations in the welding industry. Students train in spacious, modern facilities featuring individual booths and equipment for learning all major welding processes, including plasma arc torch cutting, MIG/TIG, flux-core and stick and pipe welding.
Taught by certified welding professionals, hands-on lab activities emphasize industry standards and fabrication techniques for welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Students also prepare for certification testing and develop skills in blueprint reading, metal identification and workplace safety and efficiency. Skilled welders are in high demand, and PBSC graduates are well-prepared to succeed anywhere.

- Admission requirements: None. To receive financial aid, a high school diploma or GED may be required.

- Clock hours: 1,050
- Program Length: Daytime program 40 weeks/ Evening program 56 weeks

How to Apply
- Step 1: Attend a mandatory program information session.
- Step 2: After you attend an information session, you may apply to the program by selecting Program Code 5460 for the Welding Technology CCP when you fill out PBSC's application on the Admissions webpage.
- Step 3: Meet with a Trade and Industry advisor.
- Step 4: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing.
