Welcome to the Student Learning Center at Palm Beach State College! We're dedicated to supporting your academic success with tutoring services and resources. Get help with answering a specific homework question, writing an essay or completing a scholarship application. Meet us online or in person at our five campus locations.
Online Hours
Every Day: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In-Person Hours
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Belle Glade only: 9 a.m. - noon)
Saturday - Sunday: Closed

Types of Services
Our team offers a variety of individual and small-group services for PBSC students. All tutors are trained and certified through the College Reading and Learning Association.General Support
- Paper Drop: receive written feedback from a tutor on a near-final draft without a live meeting. For support with brainstorming or early revisions, schedule a session with a writing tutor.
- Presentation assistance: receive guidance with planning, developing visuals and delivering powerful speeches.
- Skill-building for scholarship essays, resumes & more: improve your writing and self-promotion skills.
- Study Buddies: join or start a peer-run group and gather in one of our meeting spaces.
- Individual tutoring: access one-on-one tutoring for all subjects we support.
Specialized Support
- Study Sessions: group study led by a tutor for students in targeted courses.
- Specialty Science Labs: hands-on support with models for courses like anatomy and biology.
- HESI Study Group: support for pre-nursing and health sciences students studying for the HESI exam.
- Math Athletic Tutoring: academic support tailored to student athletes.
- In-class orientation sessions: video and live presentations about SLC services for any class.
- College Readiness: structured lab support for students in ENC0052, ENC0017 and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses.
- Panther Academic Learning Support (PALS): supplemental group support facilitated by a PALS leader in collaboration with faculty. Learn more about PALS.

Panther Academic Learning Support (PALS)
The Panther Academic Learning Support (PALS) program is a group tutoring program for select classes, where you and your classmates can get help on your assignments.
Our research shows that students who attended three or more PALS sessions were 37% more likely to pass their classes, and 87% of students say PALS improves their scores!
