2025 Summer Teacher Camp for Cybersecurity Educators

Enhance How You Teach Cybersecurity  

Transform your teaching and inspire future cybersecurity leaders by attending Palm Beach State College's 2025 GenCyber Summer Teacher Camp from June 23-26. Educators will receive a stipend from the national GenCyber program and learn about cybersecurity careers, digital forensics skills and new teaching methods for grades 6-12.

Camp Overview

Why attend?

Our immersive experience includes:

  • Financial Support: Receive a $1,550 stipend for 62 hours of training!
  • Hands-On Training: Engage in cybersecurity and AI training led by industry experts.
  • Classroom-Ready Resources: Develop three lesson plans aligned with GenCyber concepts.
  • Community Connection: Access resources and connect with PBSC’s Cybersecurity Community of Practice.
  • Ongoing Support: Participate in a professional learning community for continuous growth.

Who should attend?

This camp is designed for:

  • Secondary teachers: Priority for Palm Beach County 6-12 teachers
  • New teachers: Less than 1 year of experience
  • Cybersecurity educators: Teachers in cybersecurity choice programs

Who's the host?

The Computer Science and Information Technology Program at Palm Beach State College is your host. The program was awarded a summer camp grant in partnership with Florida International University from the GenCyber program funded by the National Security Agency and National Science Foundation.

Camp Details

  • Dates: June 23-26, 2025
  • Location: Cyber Lab | PBSC Lake Worth campus
  • Format: Hybrid with in-person and online learning

Pre-Camp Activities

  • Participate in a GenCyber Genesis Competition
  • Attend guest lectures from industry leaders
  • Complete 16 hours of online training

Camp Week Experience

  • Join interactive sessions covering:
    • Cybersecurity essentials
    • Operational cybersecurity
    • Career awareness
  • Complete 30 hours of in-person training 

Post-Camp Benefits

  • Continue your learning through:
    • Quarterly lesson reviews
    • Industry tours
    • Community events
  • Complete 16 hours of online training
