The Medical Assisting Advanced program at Palm Beach State College prepares you for success in today’s expanding health care field. Through interactive classes, hands-on labs and supervised clinical experiences in this Associate in Science degree program, you’ll learn how to perform patient assessments, draw blood, take EKGs and manage medical office tasks with confidence. This program is taught in a medical office-like setting, allowing students to learn the necessary skills to work in both the administrative and clinical areas of a physician's practice, as well as outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, medical and diagnostic laboratories, kidney dialysis centers and offices of other health care practitioners.

Students learn the foundation needed to sit for national certification exams, an important step toward employment in physician offices, clinics and other health care settings.
