Florida Prepaid at PBSC
A Smart Way to Pay for Your Education
Florida Prepaid is a college savings program that enables families to pay in advance for educational costs such as tuition and fees. Florida Prepaid funds are accepted at Palm Beach State College.
Easy Automatic Billing
Palm Beach State College automatically applies Florida Prepaid funds to eligible student accounts. Every week, staff in PBSC’s Student Account Services department download a file from Florida Prepaid that contains all active plan owners. This file is matched with student accounts using social security numbers. If there is a match with your student account, staff will post Florida Prepaid to your balance due for the upcoming academic period.Confirm Your Automatic Billing
The social security number you provide to Florida Prepaid and Palm Beach State College must match. Check your PBSC student account in Workday to confirm or update your information.
Opt Out of Automatic Billing
If you do not want to use your Florida Prepaid funds at Palm Beach State College, you may opt out of automatic billing. Go to your student account in Workday to opt out.

What is covered by Florida Prepaid?
There are various types of Florida Prepaid plans. The type of plan your family purchased
will determine the amount per credit hour that Florida Prepaid will cover each academic
period. For example, a basic plan may not cover technology fees or student activities
fees; however, another plan may cover them. For more details about your plan coverage,
consult the Florida Prepaid website.
What is NOT covered by Florida Prepaid?
Some fees are not covered by Florida Prepaid plans. In general, Florida Prepaid will not cover lab fees, distance learning fees, ID fees or transportation fees.
Non-Resident Students
Florida Prepaid is only billed for in-state tuition. If you have Florida Prepaid and
have been classified as a non-resident, please ensure your social security number
on file with the College and Florida Prepaid is correct. You may email or bring your
Florida Prepaid card to the Admissions Office to be classified as an in-state student.
Take Stock in Children Scholarship Recipients
Florida Prepaid scholarships are available to eligible students in the Take Stock in Children program. If you are a beneficiary of a Take Stock in Children Scholarship you must complete the STARS Student Survey required by the Florida Prepaid Foundation each year, prior to enrolling in the Fall academic period. If your survey is not taken, a hold will be placed on your Florida Prepaid account. Learn more about the scholarship and survey.
