Credit by Examination

Palm Beach State College follows state guidelines in awarding credits to students who have participated in accelerated credit-by-exam programs.   

General Guidelines 

  • Scores must be submitted on an official score report from the organization administering the examination. 
  • Students may earn a maximum of 45 credits through a combination of accelerated mechanisms. 
  • Duplicate credit cannot be awarded. 
  • Courses cannot be used for grade forgiveness purposes if a student did not previously pass the course. 
  • The grade of “S” is given for each course. It will not be calculated in a student’s GPA. 

 

Steps to Receive Credits 

  • Apply to and be admitted to Palm Beach State College.  
  • Request for official exam scores to be sent directly to the College Registrar’s Office: 
  • If all requirements are met, the test information will be recorded on the student’s transcript.
