Steps to Becoming a Panther
1. Submit Your Application
Complete the PBSC admissions application and pay a $40 non-refundable application fee.
You will be asked to select a program that interests you. Take our free career assessment to help you determine your path.
If you receive benefits through the military, your semester and program of study must be authorized. Visit our Military & Veteran Services page for details about applying for military education benefits.
2. Create Your Student Account and Download the MyPBSC app
Look out for an email about setting up your PBSC account in Workday to access essential information.
Download the MyPBSC mobile app to easily log in to your account, track your class assignments, learn about campus events and more.
3. Establish Florida Residency (if applicable) or Submit Military Out-of-State Waiver
Submit residency documentation via Workday to potentially save on tuition costs. PBSC’s in-state tuition rate is among the lowest in Florida.
If you’re being charged out-of-state fees, military students can submit a waiver form via Workday.
4. Apply for Financial Aid
Complete the Veteran Services Benefit Request Form (VSBR) via Workday. Review the Military & Veteran Services page for more information about military education benefits.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using federal school code 001512. It’s the first step for earning potential scholarships and grants or accessing loans.
Don’t wait to submit your FAFSA. Some funds are only available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Request for your official military transcript to be sent directly to PBSC.

6. Take and Submit Placement Tests Scores (if applicable)
Placement tests help determine the level of courses you register for. Review our placement testing guidelines.
Contact an academic advisor to discuss the testing requirements that apply to you.
7. Attend New Student Orientation
Participate in our New Student Orientation program at your chosen campus or online. Learn about student resources and how to get involved in activities.
