Transient Student

Are you currently enrolled at another college or university and want to take courses at Palm Beach State College? Welcome to PBSC! Here’s what you need to know about enrolling in our classes.


Important Admissions Notes

  • Transient students from Florida public institutions don't need to verify residency or pay an application fee. 
  • Transient students from out-of-state or private institutions must follow PBSC’s standard enrollment process. 
  • Transient status must be renewed for each term you wish to take courses at PBSC. 
  • You can explore PBSC course offerings through our Course Search.

 


Steps to Enroll as a Transient Student

1. Determine Your Status and Apply

Florida public college/university student: Apply via FloridaShines.org

Out-of-state or private Florida college/university student: Complete the PBSC admissions application and pay a $40 non-refundable application fee. You will also need to verify your Florida residency (if applicable).

 

2. Create Your Student Account and Download the MyPBSC app 

Look out for an email about setting up your PBSC account in Workday to access essential information. 

 

3. Submit Transient Form

Florida public institution: Complete the electronic form on FloridaShines.org.

Other institutions: Submit a Letter of Good Standing from your home institution via the Workday student portal. The form or letter must indicate: (1) you’re in good academic standing and (2) the course(s) in which you’re eligible to enroll at Palm Beach State.

 

4. Register for Approved Courses

Log in to Workday to register for courses approved by your home institution.You should be advised by your home institution regarding which courses to take at Palm Beach State and whether you have satisfied the necessary course prerequisites. Search courses here.

 

5. Complete Coursework

Fulfill all course requirements at PBSC.

 

6. Request Your Transcript

After completing your course(s), request an official transcript be sent to your home institution.
